1 results foundAuthor: Scottish Centre for Social Research Title: Summary Justice Reform: Evaluation of Reforms to Fines Enforcement Summary: Reforms to fines enforcement, introduced under Summary Justice Reform (SJR) saw responsibility for the enforcement of criminal financial penalties in Scotland transfer to the Scottish Court Service, the creation of a new post dedicated to the recovery of unpaid fines – the Fines Enforcement Officer (FEO) – and the provision of enforcement powers to the FEO. This evaluation assessed the extent to which they met their policy objectives and contributed to the SJR overarching objective – a summary justice system that is fair, efficient, effective and quick and simple in delivery.
