These are increasingly being used in crime and as weapons for intimidation - ‘weapon’ dogs. There has been an increase in attacks on young people and Londoners feel that it is only a matter of time before someone is killed. The media regularly reports attacks on people and incidents in parks; rumours circulate about dog-fights and chain fighting; and residents are concerned about damage to trees from dogs being trained to be aggressive. Action needs to be taken to develop and deliver solutions that will eliminate this abhorrent feature of London life that blights neighbourhoods, terrorises residents and is linked to serious crime. Weapon Dogs: The Situation in London sets out the action that we are already taking, and will need to take in the future, to eliminate weapon dogs from our great city.
