Statistical Analysis Center Title: Youth Gangs In Rhode Island: Perceptions Of Youth & Law Enforcement Agencies And Anti-Gang Strategies Summary: The Rhode Island Justice Commission (RIJC), the state’s criminal and juvenile justice planning agency, commissioned a study of youth gangs conducted by W. Bradley Crowther Consultants. The study had a number of components including: (a) surveying of law enforcement agencies; (b) focus groups and surveying of youth in Central Falls, Cranston, Pawtucket, Providence, and Woonsocket, where youth gang activity or the risk of youth gang activity was believed to be greatest; and (c) review of national research about effective anti-gang strategies.
