We the Judges of the Inferiour Court of Common Pleas of the County of Monmouth, Do certify to the Honorable David Brearly Esquire Chief Justice, and his Companions Justices of the Supreme Court of Judicature of the State of New Jersey, that before the coming of the annexed Writ to us, John Holmes & Solomon Ketcham in the same Writ mentioned were taken and in our custody detained by Virtue of a certain process at the suit of Elisha Walton Esq. in a Plea of Debt. And this is the cause of the taking and detaining the said John Holmes & Solomon Ketcham. Nevertheless the bodies of the said John & Solomon we have ready as within we are commanded.

The State of New Jersey to the Sheriff of the County of Monmouth Greeting: You are hereby commanded to take John Holmes & Solomon Ketcham if to be found in your Bailiwick and them safely keep so that you have their bodies before the Judges of the Inferiour Court of Common Pleas to be held at Freehold in & for the said County of Monmouth on the fourth Tuesday in July next to answer Elisha Walton Esq. who as well for himself as for the State of New Jersey in this behalf prosecuteth of a ..... that they Render to him and the said State twenty nine thousand four hundred & twenty-eight pounds thirteen shillings & four pence half penny which they owe to and unjustly detain from him the said Elisha Walton who as well &c and the said State and have you there then this Writ Witness For John Anderson Esq. Judge of the said Court at Freehold abovesaid the twenty fifth Day April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty one
