Monmouth County ss: The State of New Jersey to the Sheriff of the County of Monmouth Greeting: You are hereby commanded that you take John Holmes if he may found in your Bailiwick and him safely keep so that you have his body before the Judges of the Inferiour Court of Common Pleas to be held at Freehold in & for the County of Monmouth on the fourth Tuesday in April July to answer unto Elisha Walton who as well in behalf of the State of New Jersey as himself prosecuteth a plea against the said John that he Render to him twenty thousand Pounds which to him he Owes & Unjustly Detains (as is said) and have you then there this Writ Witness John Anderson Esqr Judge of the said Court at Freehold ..... the twenty ninth day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy-nine
