    Chapter 13: Application of chapter; government of regional districts

      Section: 18A:13-41: Taking charge and control of educational facilities of schools in newly created regional districts.

          18A:13-41. A regional board of education of a newly created regional district shall take charge and control of the educational facilities of the constituent districts in the classes or grades for which the same is formed when the commissioner shall certify to the boards of education of each of the constituent districts that suitable facilities and accommodations have been made available for the instruction of the pupils in said regional district, but it shall not take charge and control of such educational facilities earlier than July 1 of the calendar year next ensuing the date of the election for the creation of the district, except by agreement between the regional board and the boards of education of the constituent districts, approved by the commissioner. Until the commissioner shall so certify, the charge and control of the educational facilities of the constituent districts in the classes and grades for which the regional district was formed shall continue to be in the respective boards of education of the constituent districts.
