New Jersey Statutes, Title: 43, PENSIONS AND RETIREMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION

    Chapter 16a:

      Section: 43:16a-2: Retirement system established.

          2. A retirement system is hereby established in the Department of the Treasury for the purpose of providing retirement allowances and other benefits for policemen and firemen under the provisions of this act. It shall have the powers and privileges of a corporation and shall be known as "The Police and Firemen's Retirement System of New Jersey" and by such name all of its business shall be transacted, all of its funds invested, and all of its cash and securities and property held in trust for the purpose for which received.
